1.13GB is not big at all IMHO :)
At least not worth throwing away history for.

I tend to think both. And also, anything before the start of the KDE4 branch can go in a 
separate kde3 repo, from which the new repo 'kde4' branches off. From my limited knowledge 
of git, that should be possible..
