[Kde-pim] akonadi won't connect to external mysql server

Can you try with the username you specified in the Akonadi config?

If that works, try removing the "Host" setting from the config.
Maybe the QtSQL driver attemps a TCP connection to the host rather than using 
the Unix socket.
