[Kde-pim] IMAP process dies when using kmail via ssh X11 Forwarding

Hi, i recently switched from KDE 3.5 to KDE 4.2 and i found that kmail is no 
more working via ssh X11 Forwarding (i know, it's not a common way to use 
kmail! but i can switch from laptop to desktop and back without sync hassles): 
when it connects to the IMAP server the "process for protocol imap://SERVER 
dies unexpectedly".
I tried different settings, restarting from an empty kmail configuration, 
setting different servers, but none of these works.
Is there a way to make it work?
