We currently move forward to use Akonadi as the storage layer. So for keeping
the contact data around you use the KABC::Addressee class and for loading
and storing the contacts to the backends (files, groupware servers etc.) you
use the Akonadi job classes. Just join the #akonadi channel on irc.kde.org and
we can give further information.
