[Kde-pim] kaddressbook, ldap and bind dn=""

I installed Kubuntu 8.10 and am trying to figure out how to get write
permissions to an LDAP directory from Kaddressbook.

My ldap is all setup and I can *see* entries using Kaddressbook, so that
seems to work. I modified an entry but when I watch my syslog I get:

Nov 1 13:39:22 ubuntu slapd[12855]: conn=6 op=0 BIND dn="" method=128
Nov 1 13:39:22 ubuntu slapd[12855]: conn=6 op=0 RESULT tag=97 err=0 text=
Nov 1 13:39:22 ubuntu slapd[12855]: conn=6 op=1 SRCH base="<base dn which
is correct>" scope=1 deref=0 filter="(uid=0fop7gbgmt)"

What I don't understand is why Kaddressbook is sending the BIND dn="". When
I setup in KAddressbook I have Simple authentication, a BIND dn set, and a
password.

Any ideas why I don't have the right BIND dn coming to my LDAP?

Thanks,

Craig
