The only limitation I know of is a limitation of the size of 
attachments. The default value for this limit is 50 MB. For more 
information see http://kde.markmail.org/message/zi624sdtclblsfk3 .

To me this seems to be a limitation of the ISP. Did your client try to 
send larger messages with another email client, e.g. Thunderbird?
