[Kde-pim] Pilot device is not read-write

I deleted and re-created /dev/pilot.
ls -la /dev/pilot
	lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2008-05-23 20:35 /dev/pilot -> /dev/ttyUSB0

The problem seems to be that the permissions for /dev/ttyUSB0 are being
automatically reset when I attempt a HotSync.

I can do:
chmod 777 /dev/ttyUSB0
ls -la /dev/pilot
	crwxrwxrwx 1 root uucp 188, 0 2008-05-23 20:38 /dev/ttyUSB0

But when I press the HotSync button, it changes to:
	crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 0 2008-05-23 20:39 /dev/ttyUSB0

Even running kpilot as root fails.
