You do realise this information is already available if you have access rights 
to a users account?

I fail to see how an option to display how many unread emails someone has on 
the login screen is "spying".

I understand that you may disagree with the idea, that's fine but implying 
that other people wouldn't want this feature based on your (in my opinion) 
over-the-top privacy angle is not really a fair discussion of the idea. I 
notice that you don't run your own email server. Do you trust Tesco to not 
read all your emails? They are perfectly capable of doing so and you've 
probably agreed that this is ok. Did you read their privacy policy fully? I 
fail to see how this would be better than local data-collection for local 
users.

Personally, I think this would be a great idea and I welcome more identity 
integration and data collection between applications to be more useful for 
me.
