I can't point you to a blog, but here is a brief description of the state
of KAlarm for KDE 4:
KAlarm has been completely ported to KDE 4, and is basically working,
although currently there are a number of bugs which need to be fixed - and
there will certainly be more to discover.
KAlarm in KDE 4 has several new features:
- A facility to use multiple alarm resources, and to share resources. This
allows, for example, sharing alarm calendars between laptops and desktop
computers.
- It now allows the time zone to be set for alarm times. Summer/winter
(daylight saving) time changes are now handled correctly.
- It has a new option to restrict alarms to working hours.
- A new option for display alarms is to generate the alarm message window
text from the output of a command, instead of showing a fixed text or file
contents.
- The Edit Alarm dialog layout has been tidied up to try to simplify some
of the controls.
- It uses the new KDE translation framework throughout. Although this has
reduced the current number of translated strings in many existing
translation languages, in the long run it should provide more accurate and
sensible translations in its user interface.
