I have just seen this thread and have missed its beginning, but I assume you 
are trying to access Exchange's directory using LDAP?
If so, use the following filter in your LDAP address book to filter out the 
garbage (it should be pasted as one line):

(&(&(&(mailnickname=*)(|(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(!
(homeMDB=*))(!(msExchHomeServerName=*)))(&(objectCategory=person)
(objectClass=user)(|(homeMDB=*)(msExchHomeServerName=*)))
(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=contact))(objectCategory=group)
(objectCategory=publicFolder)))))
