[Kde-pim] kmail 1.9.6 scans all IMAP folders on folder change

Hi @all,

I'm new to this list, and hope it's the correct one for my issue. I
recently upgraded on openSUSE 10.2 my KDE environment to the latest
openSUSE packages, and now I have kmail 1.9.6 (enterprise
20070731.694771) (KDE 3.5.7 "release 69.1" openSUSE)
(That's for sure the longest version info I ever wrote.)

I noticed that kmail is horribly slow whenever I klick on another
folder, having 5-6 seconds delay before showing the folder contents.
This used to be extremely fast, without any delay. So I began
searching, and found that this new kmail scans *every* IMAP folder on
that account before displaying the folder contents. As I have around
120 folders, this takes a while, and is very annoying.

Is there any way to disable this "scan on folders on folder change"
thingy? It's enough with the old behaviour, to scan all folders every n
minutes, which is configurable. Which, btw, would also be good to
improve, because on such a "background scan" you cannot change folders,
but have to wait until the scan is finished.
