imap slave & DNS & memory usage

Hi,

while profiling the imap slave I found the following: normaly the slave 
uses

VmSize:    47816 kB
VmRSS:     13252 kB
VmData:    18016 kB

As DNS lookup is broken somehow with callgrind I used plain IP and got

VmSize:    31964 kB
VmRSS:     13788 kB
VmData:     2220 kB

Any ideas what's going on?
