[Kde-nonlinux] keybbooardd problems

I'm suddenly having a lot of keyboard problems
while running openbsd 3.4 and kde. I'm also
having problems when just running in console mode
(caps shift stops working, keyboard becomes completely
unresponsive, numeric keypad stops working, etc.)
This all started about two days ago and is now getting
much worse.  My keyboard is newly (about 3 months
ago replaced).  Any way that this could be software-related
or should I just get another keyboard?
