Dave,

I think I just encountered the same problem you spoke of in your post on
Kde-nonlinux of 2002-11-23.

In my case, the problem was that one file was not properly installed.
I found this by running kspread from a terminal window, so that I could see
the error message after the KSpread GUI disappeared. The missing file was
named 'libkspreadpart.so.0.0'.

I had just built koffice-1.2.1 from the ports tree, which happened to leave me
with the missing file available in the build directory, needing only to be
copied to /usr/local/lib in order to get KSpread working again.

This is what worked for me:
$ sudo cp \
/usr/ports/x11/kde/office3/w-koffice-1.2.1/koffice-1.2.1/kspread/.libs/libkspreadpart.so.0.0
/usr/local/lib/.

I'm relatively new to OpenBSD, but I absolutely love it.

If you have any questions about building KDE from the OpenBSD ports tree, I
may be able to help, having just learned how. It was wonderfully easy,
actually, so I suspect that you will breeze through it if you have access to
the FAQ. If not, let me know if I can be of help.
