This is definitely something I want to have in Elisa as a first class citizen. 
This is in fact the main reason I have started this project.

I have also built one (not yet in KDE project but hosted there https://
gitlab.com/homeautomationqt/upnp-player-qt ). It is far from finished and 
especially the support for the SSDP discovery protocol is not good enough.

My target is to also be able to build other UPnP stuff like Media Renderers, 
Media Content Directory and maybe some stuff around smart home.
I would love to have a Media Content Directory built on top of Baloo for 
example.

Did you test the cross compilation for Android ?

Could we see together if there is a way to somehow work together such that we 
have enough effort to have something robust (here I am talking specifically 
about my work, not yours) ?

I currently focus on the media player application instead of the library.
