Hi everyone,
I feel very sad to report that I was not able to do much for JuK in
September because of exams and the fact that I was the team-leader of our PULUG
for Software Freedom Day, Chandigarh,
India<http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2013/India/Chandigarh/PULUG>this
year.
I tend to believe that it was for a greater good. We had around 350
attendees (freshman mostly) this year. It was a two day event. Day 1 was
introductory session and Day 2 was coding workshop.
We introduced them to FOSS. My seniors and pass-outs shared their
open-source development experience and discussed how to get into
open-source development. I held sessions about advanced CLI, using git,
compiling projects (JuK was the demo) using Qt and compiling linux-kernel.
You can check out more detailed list
here<http://softwarefreedomday.in/task/index.html>. We
will soon upload the event photos on the same website
softwarefreedomday.in<http://softwarefreedomday.in>.
We also distribute some last year's KDE and openSUSE swag (stickers mostly).
Overall it was a very successful event and hopefully we'll have some more
open-source contributors from our university.

Even though I was not able to work on JuK directly, I kind-of promoted JuK
and kde-multimedia in front of 250 freshman. I believe it was a good
bargain of my time and I owed this much to my seniors who did the same for
me.
