This is somewhat... odd. There is a bug in phonon gstreamer 4.6.0 that
does exhibit exactly that behavior [1], however that has nothing to do
with phonon vlc, nor does phonon vlc have a known issues of that kind.
Are you sure that your vlc backend is loaded properly? When you turn
on PHONON_DEBUG libphonon should very early on print the backend name
and version it is using, maybe that can shed some light on the issue.
