I don't think it justifies, because there are third-party backends in 
writing. If people can't build them after they've upgraded KDE, they'll 
think the backend is broken. The thing is, the authors of the backend are 
not at fault, it's Phonon that changed.

Otherwise, we'll end up with hell:
 - install phonon 4.x
 - build backends Foo and Bar
 - install phonon 4.y
 - build backend Baz
