Heavy problems starting up amaroK today

Hello dear amaroK people!
I would like to share my yesterday/today's experience with amaroK, which
costed me a couple of hours to solve.
After the latest update from CVS, amaroK refused to start with my setup and
quitted silently. Because I know that it can happen whenever a change of the
internal format of config files/databases/caches/whatever is performed, I
decided to clear amarokrc, which I did already several times and it always
helped. However, not in this case. So I backed up and removed all my
.kde/share/apps/amarok. What a surprise - even after such a drastic cut amarok
didn't start. I intentionally didn't enter any collection path to the First Run
Wizard, just set the most basic things - and even after that, amarok bailed out
after a bunch of messages, showing that it scans some filespace, probably my
home directory, although I never instructed it to do so.
The messages put to the konsole were:
...

So I've got an idea that it's caused by gst engine selected by default, which
is confused by zipfiles, executables, text files and other trash offered to it.
Something out of my >3000 entries in the home dir simply killed it.
I was unable to select another engine (arts) because there was no possibility
to control anything before this scan and it always caused the crash (btw. just
a silent termination).
To solve the problem, I had to:
  1) Create a blank user account
  2) Log in there and start amarok (no problems there)
  3) Change the engine type to arts
  4) Copy amarokrc to my account
  5) Start amarok from my account. From that point, it started to work and
works until now.
So, to cut a long story short: Is there a way how to disable scanning of the
home directory when amaroK is started for the first time ? For example, all my
music is in a totally different place, and I don't want to let amarok browse
this directory at all and never!
                                   With regards, Pavel Troller
