Summary: interupted playback under io load
           Product: noatun
           Version: 2.4.0
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kde-multimedia kde org
        ReportedBy: leskets web de

Version: 2.4.0 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc-3.3-23
OS: Linux

Configuration:
ARts runs with real time priority. Buffer 0.5 seconds.
linux 2.6.3 with low latency patch using anticipatory IO scheduler

The playback occasionally interrupts under heavy IO load (move of a large directory to a new partition with "nice -n 20"). The IO scheduler does not seem to care much for process priorities (which is good for throughput, but bad for latency).

Maybe Noatun itself should read more data ahead and lock it into memory (if permitted by the OS).
