Your commit to aRts a little while back to fix ALSA auto-detection also 
created bug #79196 -- when I revert revision 1.5 of audioalsa9.cc things work 
again here.  I'm taking a look at it, but I thought if you have a moment it 
would be nice if you could take a look at this too...
