Yes I did, as always.  I've seen xine's abuse of library versioning in 
action before. :-)

Probably not possible yet, probably are problems, but they're probably not 
known yet.  Wait for the compiler to be released before using it, is the 
best bet, unless you're familiar with both gcc development and KDE cvs 
enough to fix problems on the KDE side and report things to the gcc side.
