newbie questions

google tells me "Nokia has also confirmed that the merged MeeGo operating 
system will not be made available in an official capacity for the N900"
but I also see some links for installing meego on the n900.

d'you think it's a good or bad idea to try installing meego on my n900?
what do you guys use for trying/developing meego?

as for maemo, are you still on the old scratchbox dev. environment? (god that 
thing was a pain)

I'm not sure if it's out of date :)
