What does setting the paths like in kmail-mobile.sh and then running
accountwizard do?
Does "top" show any processes cluttering up the machine?
As root does 'cat /proc/sys/fs/file-nr' show that your machine is in need of
file descriptors?

Okay, something seems to be missing on your installation.
Can you send your list of debian packages to the kde-mobile list
or alternatively to me personally?
