Is there a way to force digikam to not use the Exif rotation tags? I thought
the option I posted a screenshot of made sure this was the case, but maybe the
batch queue manager ignores this setting? 

And for HEIF specifically: is there a way to make it work somehow? In my case,
even using the Item - Auto Rotate/Flip Using Exif Information tool didn’t do
anything. I was a bit less surprised that the HEIF-files didn’t turn out so
well, since the standard is more recent. What I was more surprised about was
the funny behaviour of some of the PNG files, like the one I sent you a link
of, and the one I sent to a friend that he received flipped.
