            Bug ID: 508104
Summary: Add Fujifilm focus-point extractor support to digiKam
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
      Version First 8.7.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: macOS
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Metadata-Focus
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-null at kde.org
          Reporter: focus-point at mailinator.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Thank you for developing digikam, I have been happily using for a long time!

Currently, digiKam’s focus‑point overlay feature supports brands like Canon,
Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony via dedicated extractor routines in
FocusPointsExtractor, leveraging ExifTool.

However, Fujifilm is not supported likely because fujifilm was not popular or
advanced enough when this feature is implemented.

Other brands already have dedicated extractor implementations (e.g.
FocusPointsExtractor class, focuspoints_extractor_nikon.cpp,
getAFPoints_nikon() etc.). These implementations include most of the logicof
interpreting their respective AF metadata. So implementation of Fuji is just
imitation of them with Fujjs AF metadata.

Unfortunately I don’t have enough technical experience on C++ or camera
metadata to contribute to this implementation of this. However, due to fujifilm
is infamous for false positive AF issues, Fujifilm users need this a lot!

Can I kindly ask you to implement a getAFPoints_fujifilm() function within
FocusPointsExtractor to extract and overlay Fujifilm AF points?

Thank you so much again for Digikam!
