On 10.11 with the 10.9 SDK -- I can try to recreate it after work today.

Plugins are built using -bundle instead of -dynamiclib on 10.9 and earlier, and that makes it impossible to use them as shared libraries. I don't see why Apple (or CMake) would change anything in this domain, so that practice should have bitten you on 10.11 too, a priori.

I am not sure :-) I never build tests except on Linux, because there's always something wrong, and there are just too darn many of them. I might try again now that I've got a faster mac, but the mac mini was just so slow.
