Availability of DVD drive, rotating hard drive, USB ports and several other
connections might be a factor, even perhaps with the newest Mac mini.

The latest MacBooks are very beautiful (and reasonably cheap), but with not
many connections to the outside world, other than the Internet, and they have
solid state drives. My son and daughter have each acquired one during the
last few months and left me drooling over their boot-up and app-loading speed
and 5 megapixel picture quality.

But check connections against needs before buying…

Cheers, Ian W.
