[KDE/Mac] paths for binaries in which application look

Hi I have a problem setting up Okular and Kile natively build with macports (noX11) :

So far I hav been able to nail it down to the fact that both aplications look for binaries which the sometimes need only in the following directories:
/usr/bin
/bin
/usr/sbin
/sbin

My Question now:
is it possible to tell them other locations as well, or even let them use my PATH Variables the osx terminal?
Or maybe add binary paths for all of kde in general?
And if so how can this be done?

Btw: I am amazed how well  KDE Applications run under OSX great Job!
