[KDE/Mac] manifesto contradiction

hi! i started over with kde on mac wanting to try yet again
i followed the manifesto (
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/KDE_on_Mac_OS_X/Macbook_Manifesto)
which explains to set up macports so that it uses
- SDK 10.4
- gcc-4.2
as it has been proved successfull
so with plenty of hope i exactly did what the manifesto said and tried "sudo
port install kdebas"
unfortunately i couldn't get a working kde installation neither this time
in fact, although qt4 compiled fine, automoc, the first dependency of kde4,
failed with
/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/include/stdarg.h:4:25: error: stdarg.h:
No such file or directory
/opt/local/libexec/qt4-mac/include/QtCore/qbytearray.h:94: error: 'va_list'
has not been declared
(plus other errors)
some google showed up this, the Xcode 3.1 release note
>> "Note that neither gcc-4.2 nor llvm-gcc-4.2 will compile code
>> against the 10.4u or earlier SDK, or deploy for Mac OS X 10.4 or
>> earlier."
so how to solve this situation? why qt4 compiled and automoc didn't?
shouldn't the manifesto be somehow corrected?
Vittorio
