[KDE/Mac] What is the suggested KDE distribution?

Dear list,   i was wondering what is the best solution to obtain KDE 4.1
packages for Mac. Up to now i've used the macports version available by
theiggy.com. However it seems that they are no longer updated.  Now it seems
that again the suggested solution is now to use the image files produced by
Big O. Is there a long term schedule concerning the distribution of those
packages?
