[KDE/Mac] Copy/past from OS X to Kate and vice versa

In OS 10.4 and using KDE 3.5.x installed by Fink, I can copy and paste 
pack and forth as long as I have the program "xclipboard" running in the 
background.  I do not know if this works with KDE 4.x apps or OS 10.5.
