Debian-Squeeze
KDE 4.4.5

Hello,

after upgrading from Debian-Lenny I am struggling with my computer. Nothing
works the way it used to be.

Since Amarok/Phonon refuse to play music whereas Kaffeine, VLC, Mplayer, Xine-
UI are working fine, but they cannot replace the functionality of Amarok.

So I am looking either for a solution to make Phonon use ma ALSA and let
Amarok play music or find another tool to replace Amarok.

At the moment I'd be glad to get some hints how to handle the
systemsettings/device-options to make xine or vlc play audio-CDs

xine --auto-play cdda:///dev/cdrom

does not work in the paramter-line.

What do I have to put there to make xine and vlc play audio-cds?

Both can play mp3s stored on harddisk, so they must be working basically.

Thanks for helping.
Max
