Yes, the path exists, sys-settings, comp-admin, keyboard&mouse, mouse, was 
where I was talking about.  There's a setting to reverse the button order 
(left vs right handed), but no setting to disable specific buttons.

In input actions I don't see anything able to do that, either.  It won't 
take unmodified (no control, shift, etc) mouse buttons as actions to 
assign to anything.

So as I said, it's X configuration, either in xorg.conf, or with the hal 
config, which gets a bit complicated.  With xorg.conf it's even pretty 
simple.  But I think I could explain either if I got confirmation that it 
was needed, especially if we got a dialog going, but I'm not going to try 
to explain both, when there has been no reply even confirming whether 
there's an xorg.conf or not.  No replies from the OP with additional 
information at all, so far (over a week).  Kinda hard to work with that.
