Please, please, James, dont do it !!
The last thing we need is another excellent expert joining a distro, no matter what distro it is !
What we need are several really experts, no afiliated to distros and not beeing paid by them. We need independant persons like James, who take the effort to build a system like the new 4.5.0 one, looking exactly for those things not working !! I had a very nice discussion with some KDE developers.( if you cannot compile it, buy it ) Either the new package can be build by somebody like James, much better by a qualified amateur ) or the package or the instructions or both are wrong ! So simple !
No doubt that a distro, with all the direct contacts to the developers will soon or later come down with the solution of the problems. But for a very long time that has not been the idea behind Linux !
