first, try not top posting, since this annoys quite a lot.
second. knowing the distro you're using to control if your cups daemon
has already been installed. usually it is always installed by default,
but you might never know. if you have some kind of package installer
or similar try opening it and search for cups.
third. i assume this is the first printer you're using on this distro.
