OK, in the meantime I found the problem.
I followed a couple of months ago the gentoo installation which told me
to add a env var KDEWM="compiz --replace ..." or something like
this. Removing this a running env-update solved the issue.
:) Now I can try KDE4 and go back to KDE3.5 as default! :)
