[kde-linux] TTS annoyance

When I was expecting a visit from a family with children I installed more 
games and kde-edu stuff onto my laptop.  Since then, every time I boot the 
laptop I get the TTS configuration page open on my desktop, despite the fact 
that Enable Text-to-Speech System is unchecked.

Is there any way to stop this annoying behaviour?  I don't want or need it, 
but I didn't really want to uninstall all the kde-edu stuff, and I don't like 
force-removal of packages.
