[kde-linux] Accident loses sound

Drat.  OK, here's a long shot.  Making the changes others recommended may have 
fixed these settings in this file.  But I don't think they take effect until the 
next time you restart KDE.  Have you restarted KDE since editing the sound 
configuration settings from within KDE?
