[kde-linux] Accident loses sound

Only a guess, but go back to kcontrol->sound and multimedia->sound 
system and uncheck
enable sound system, apply, and recheck enable sound system and apply 
and see if that helps.
Can't hurt.
I have had to do this a few times similar reasons.//
