[kde-linux] sockets and sound problem

Hello!
I'm running Kubuntu 6.06.
KDE has no sound. I found out that there are some processes and strange 
files - socket files - that may have to do with it.

4910 ?        S      0:00 kio_file [kdeinit]

 4911 ?        S      0:00 kio_media [kdeinit] 
media /tmp/ksocket-nil/klauncherl
 4912 ?        S      0:00 kicker [kdeinit]
 4913 ?        S      0:00 kio_file [kdeinit] 
file /tmp/ksocket-nil/klauncherlBs
4924 ?        S      0:00 kio_trash [kdeinit] 
trash /tmp/ksocket-nil/klauncherl

Amarok and Kaffeine are mute.
What could I do to have sound back?
