[kde-linux] Worth updating for Multihead / Dual Head ?

Hi! I recently started to use a multihead setup (without Xinerama!). The
basic functions works fine, but I am missing many minor 'usability'
features, which I deem within KDE's responsibiliy, but I might be wrong
here and thus want to know:

1) Fall the general issues (examples described below) within KDE's
responsibility?

2) And if so, will updating my system right now already help me?

3) And if updating will not help me now, might the issues be dealt with
in the forseeable future of KDE or I should consider another desktop
environment for now? From my search on kde.org, "multihead" or "dual
head" did not receive much attention within the last two years, which
puzzles me: Is everything in relation to that already solved or deemed
uninteresting? Am I the only one having this problem? Or should I really
use Xinerama? (I did not get Xinerama to work properly, but I do not
think that I need windows streched on two monitors either...)

Some examples of problems:

  - Why is there no keyboard-shortcut for switching between the screens?
(Ok, I found a little non-kde application to switch thanks to google,
which I bound to a keyboard shortcut now, but I would expect that to be
a very common problem!)

  - Most KDE Control Center Settings on Screen 2 will come to effect
only after a reboot (Panel settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, etc. Screen 1
works fine though.)

  - Keeping the screens separate is nice, but sometimes I would like
certain since to work across screens (e.g. some keyboard shortcuts: like
changing the screen, or changing the amaroK-volume with amaroK running
on screen1 while working on screen 2. It is really awkward to grab the
mouse for just that!).

  - Why is it impossible to open a KDE control centers on each screen?
(I needed to copy many settings manually from screen 1 to screen 2, so I
constantly opened and closed control centers left and right...)

  - Why is it impossible to transfer a window/program from one screen to
another? X should allow to redirect a window of a program anywhere, so I
would expect KDE to offer something to easily do this on a multihead
display, like "sent to" for virtual screens...

So what I really want would be something like this: Everything works
like on virtual desktops, and I can independently and ad hoc choose a
virtual desktop for each real screen to display, even if it takes some
minutes to swap...

My current system is based on Suse 9.3, with some things updated:
   KDE 3.5.2 Level "a"
   Xorg 6.8.2
   Linux 2.6.11-4-21.11-default

Thanks!
