[kde-linux] Kopete 0.12

I had trouble with kopete beta so I downloaded the finished 0.12 kopete. I 
have installed ubuntu 6.06 and am using KDE 3.5.2. when trying to install I 
get "no c-compiler in PATH.. I went to synpatic and installed the 4: 
c-compiler. When it loads files from the interney Synpatic cannot find 2 
files. Any help?? I really want to continue to use kpoete
