[kde-linux] Menueditor (kmenuedit) dont work

Heyas

I just installed KDE 3.5.3 and i see that the Menueditor (kmenuedit) dont
work att all - i can see the changes in ~/.config/menus but nothing at all
show up in K-menu ... whats the problem ? Or is there a fix for it?

I have installed the packages from this location:

ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/kde/stable/3.5.3/contrib/Slackware/10.2/

I running Slackware 10.2 with kernel 2.6.13

Someone that know about this annoying thing?
