[kde-linux] kdvi error with SuSE 9.3 and KDE 3.5

Hi:
Just upgraded to KDE 3.5.  Now KDVI does not work - get the following error 
attempting to open a dvi file:

File Type Error! Could not load the file /home/richard/thesis/master.dvi.

No MultiPage supporting mimetype application/x-dvi found.
<end of error message>

I found a bug report 117009 which concludes that this is a SuSE problem.  
However I can't find anything at SuSE (Novell) for this.  I've applied all 
the SuSE updates that I can find.

There is a report on the SuSE mailing list about this, but the thread ends 
with no solution documented.

Has anyone with SuSE 9.3 and KDE 3.5 encountered this problem and resolved it?
