I need to write a script that would install the files in the right place
irrespective of the distribution.

How do I get the exact path to put my app index.docbook in?
on Ubuntu it is:
${KDEDIR}/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/
On Slax it is different:
${KDEDIR}/share/doc/HTML/en/

Also, is there some environment variable to get the exact path of the
documentation (the place where copyright, changelog is put)?
On slax it is /usr/doc/

Is there some equivalent of "kde-config --prefix" to get these kinds of
variables?
