[kde-linux] KMail 1.8.3 and kernel 2.6.14.2 problems

Hi there all,
		just wondering if anyone has seen any problems with using KMail under 
kernel-.2.6.14.2? The problems I am seeing are that KMail keeps freezing when 
clicking on a message and a killall KMail needs to be performed or the 
program stays unresponsive.
When I go back to kernel-2.6.13 there are no problems. Both Kernels are 
compiled with the exact same options as the other (both are hand rolled 
kernels under Gentoo), could this be something wrong with ext3 under 
2.6.14.2?
Any other places I should be looking?  Nothing shows up in the logs, or dmesg.
