Fair enough.

There are various hints to try, on the bbc help page.  Some say that the helix 
player needs to be installed as root - I installed as user.  One said that he 
had to disable arts.  Another said he used 'artsdsp /usr/bin/realplay' to get 
it working.  Another created a link from his home directory.    There are 
other ideas there, too.  I hope to play with some of these tonight.  If I 
have any success I'll report back, for the sake of the archives.
