Not specifically a kde problem, so I'll answer it from the Mandrake point of
view.
Is yours an external drive, then? Usually scd0 would mean that. Also, if you
are using Mandrake Control Center, usually the drive door opens when that
message comes up, so if you have two drives you do know which one it expects
to use.
If you continue to have problems in installing from that drive you can get all
you need from on-line sources. Go to easyurpmi.zarb.org where you will be
told how to set up sources for main, contrib, update and a bunch of others.
Select one source from each group and it will give you the set of commands
you need to make them all work.
There are helpful mailing lists for Mandrake - you can sign up from the
Mandriva web pages. HTH
