I've recently updated to KDE-3.4 and when I start KDE, I get this message:

Composite extension not found
You must use XOrg ≥ 6.8 for translucency and shadows to work.
Additionally, you need to add a new section to your X config file:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

I added the section to xorg.conf and I got all this transparent stuff that
slows things down A LOT. I've looked for some way to keep this from loading
and so far, I have had no luck. I've commented out the section in my config,
but I am still getting these messages. How can I disable composit manager?
Does 3.5 solve the slow down of the transparent functions?
